THE VALUE OF ASSESSING PERFORMANCE

The organisation I currently work for does non have any established sagaciousness or judgment system in place. However my previous employer did so I will describe how that system worked.

The means the assessment and approximation system worked in my previous employment was that once a year I would receive a indite formal assessment from my line music director. These annual assessments were used as examine regarding my suitability for promotion. At six monthly intervals I would to a fault receive a written judgement from my line manager; however this was more informal and was used more as feedback and a guide for me so that I was aware of any areas that I need to improve on.

Both the annual assessment and six monthly appraisals were broken down into various categories (i.e. mete out Competence, Managerial Competence, Confidence, etc). For each category I would learn a written narrative detailing my strengths, weaknesses, achievements, etc. Along spatial relation this narrative I would be given a bulls eye out of 10, this was an indication of my performance level in that especial(a) category.
