In this case two certain men that were scrutinized were Thomas Fitzsimons and magic trick Swanwick. Congress approved of taxing domestic products such as baccy and whisky to help pay off the 25 million dollar debt. This to most American people was an outrage, especially in northern PA where whiskey was revenue. This eventually led to the whiskey rebellion. Thomas Fitzsimons was a strong believer in black lovage Hamiltons ideals for taxing. This is a certain factor that lessened his votes in that area because in Philadelphia there where tobacco and distillery companies that industrious over 400 workers.

John Swanwick was an endorsed supporter of the antiauthoritarian society of PA.
