Introduction
Certainly one heavy reason for exploitation textbooks in my teaching of side of meat in secondary level is simply that teenage learners’ like books. In fact, my students seem to prefer having their own textbook rather than using non disposable texts.
In my case as teacher I have notice that my students consider books essential to learn English, so in this present paper I will analytic thinking two books I currently use in my classes regarding to how do they use the language components mentioned in Fromkinn and Rodman´s text What is language?
Analysis of Textbooks
The books I will analyze are “Spectrum. A communicative course in English” and “English: step by step” both for secondary schools proffer by SEP. As I have noted in using standard textbooks in teaching English as foreign language, there is a hierarchy of how to teach a language: first focus on listening, secondly on speaking, then reading, and lastly on writing, and then integrate these skills in a balanced manner. Using these four components of learning language, I can judge how much emphasis is put on each by the textbooks regarding to the language components.
In the Spectrum introduction it is undertake that its aim is to help students acquire a fairish didactics in both spoken and written English. (Spectrum, 2009).
