hatful had to decide how much involvement they were to take towards the war. Many were drafted for the war. Those that were not drafted stayed here in America. These were called baby boomers. The baby boomers did not extremity war. Those that were left behind had the choice of college or war. The incentive of overtaking to war was a deferment (Ryan, 2008). This would allow those students to be suitable to return from war and pick up where they left get through at school. The young adults that wanted to dodge the war went to college. For those adults that receive from college would then be eligible to be drafted in the war (Ryan, 2008). For this reason these adult men would plain the war. The more that these students pushed to president the more the government pushed back. An example of this is what happened at Ohio’s Kent State University. The violent protest took place on May 2, 1970.
During this protest select few set one of the University buildings on wind up (Trueman, 2000-2009). The National Guard was sent in by the governor of Ohio. National Guard was to use force to disperse the protesters. During this quaternion students were killed and ten were wounded (Trueman, 2000-2009). The governor was so disgusted by this matter than he said this was a form of communism. He change surface compared this behavior to Hitler’s Brownshirts. Students protested at over 450 universities (Trueman, 2000-2009). When mass started to look over what happened at Kent State or even Jackson State nobody knew who the enemy was and who the friend was. Many Americans were divided on the Vietnam War.
