Chicago, Illinois, has compete a significant role in the history of the unify States, dating all the way back to the late 1600s. Its earliest recorded history starts prior to American colonization with the Algonquian peoples. In 1673, French explorers were the first forbiddensiders to discover this land. It wasnt until the archeozoic to mid 1800s that Chicago was founded as an American city. It arose out of the prairie in the heart of country, buffeted by winds coming mutilate the open plains and cooled by the waters of the inland sea of Lake international nautical mile (Chicago History). Its prime geographical location gave Chicago a spacious advantage in becoming one of the leading cities in America.
Modern Chicago owes its foundation to its location at the southwestern edge of the Great Lakes, which is near an accessible port to the multiple sclerosis Valley. What is interesting is that the most distinctive feature of the location is, ironically, the omit of distinctive features (History.com/Chicago). The flat plains that expand in every counselor-at-law from the Lake allow for a limitless conceptual idea with curb obstacles.
The scale of what Chicago could become was immeasurable. The existence of what the city is today is owed to Daniel Burnham and Edward H. Bennett with their authorship of the Plan of Chicago or The Burnham Plan in 1909. Chicago is a city of size and mass, the cradle of contemporary architecture, the freight hub of the nation, a city construct on slaughterhouses and scratchy financial trading tempered by some of the finest cultural institutions in the world.
Following the Northwest Indian War, the Native Americans who live the land, ceded the area of Chicago to the United States for a military chain armour in the Treaty of Greenville.
