Great Expectations is an emotional and captivating invigorated by Charles Dickens which take place in the 19th coke Europe. It tells the legend of an orphan Pip (Phillip Pip) who, in his point of view, is retelling his undismayed journey from a child to adulthood. Pips story began on Christmas even in 1840, when he was about seven year sexagenarian and he was attacked by an escaped convict, demanding his help. He lived in a poor area of Kent with his sister and her husband who were always referred to as Mrs. Joe and Joe Gargery. Pips life completely changes once he meets drop Havisham, a rich yet bitter old woman and her pick out daughter Estella, who he unfortunately falls in extol with. Later on in life, Pip unexpectedly receives a large sum of money from an anonymous benefactor, assuming its Miss Havisham. We do not know who the true benefactor is until central through the novel. He then goes to London where he goes to naturalize to become a gentleman, meeting new people in a world he never knew existed. He is face up with truth, lies and many surprises along his journey, making it quite an enjoyable read. in that location are many different themes and agencys to this novel, many repetitive when study to the other Dickens books. Charles Dickens has a way of development his typography to connect with readers.
The novel itself is somewhat autobiographical, because Charles Dickens stories are close to always based on his true experiences of life and people. This gave the story more of a darker atmosphere, because at the time he was writing the novel he was going through problems with his wife and children. He suffered through losses of two children and towards the publication time of the novel he was going to leave his wife Catherine.
Another style of Dickens that was in this novel was a style usual during the German Enlightenment, called Bildungsroman.
