My name is Lisa Barnes. Making a diversity means so much more to me today, than it did three years ago. My psychological call down back then was on a collision course. I was diagnosed in my early twenties, with having Mental Illnesses. I was abused at a very young age. This go forth me traumatized and hopeless. With the right assist, I visualiseed to overcome the fears that left me disabled. The abuse I see came from family, friends, and the man I once called my husband. This left me believing I deserved the abuse. Having low self-esteem and feeling worthless left me hopeless. At times I felt that I would divulge off dead. While in crisis, I found the support I needed. Project Sanctuary, offered me the support, that changed my life for the better. They showed me ways to face my fears, and learn to live as a compassionate human being. They gave me confidence, encouragement, and determination, I needed: to be who I am today. I am a woman with hopes and dreams today. I am becoming a woman with a purpose. That purpose is to share my courage, strengths and hopes with others who rescue been abused. I am currently in my second semester here at Mendocino College.

Enrolled and taking my general education courses that are required in order to advance to the courses I need to get my phase in Psychology. With this degree, I can pursue my vocation to pass a Social Worker. Therefore, I am applying for this scholarship. I am willing work hard to prove that I am determined to be that person that can make a difference. With your support, it will enable me to continue with my current education and career goals.
